Arsenal clinches 20th straight Champions League berth with United’s loss to West Ham

For the 20th consecutive season under embattled gaffer Arsene Wenger, Arsenal will take part in the Champions League.

The Gunners’ participation in next season’s edition of the competition was confirmed Tuesday, courtesy of Manchester United’s absorbing 3-2 loss to West Ham in the last-ever match to be played at the Boleyn Ground.

With just one match remaining on the campaign, Tuesday’s result means Manchester United, sitting fifth in the Premier League table on 63 points, cannot eclipse Arsenal’s current tally of 68.
