Barcelona leaves 10-man Madrid in the dust after El Clasico evisceration

No one can stop Barcelona.

The Catalan giant is now nine points clear atop the La Liga table and a whopping 14 ahead of Real Madrid after Saturday’s 3-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Madrid controlled possession in the first half of El Clasico, but lost all momentum after the interval. Ivan Rakitic carved through Madrid’s midfield to set up Luis Suarez‘s opener before Lionel Messi converted from the penalty spot.

Dani Carvajal was also sent off for blocking a sure goal with his arm, all but eradicating the home side’s chances of a comeback.

Substitute Aleix Vidal added a third goal in stoppage time to complete the embarrassment.

More to come.
