The race for the 2018 Ballon d’Or is on.
France Football magazine on Monday began revealing the final ranking of the 30 finalists for the prestigious individual award, releasing the names in batches throughout the day.
Luka Modric is the favorite to capture this year’s honor, which will be announced later in the day.
Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona icon Lionel Messi have combined to win the last 10 awards, with AC Milan‘s Kaka in 2007 the last player from outside that duopoly to take home the prize.
