Manchester City banned from Champions League for 2 seasons

Manchester City were kicked out of the Champions League for the next two seasons and hit with a €30-million fine for committing “serious” breaches of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations, the governing body announced Friday.

UEFA said City overstated sponsorship revenue in their accounts between 2012 and 2016.

City countered, saying the process that led to Friday’s decision was “flawed.”

The club has now launched proceedings with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

More to come.
