Report: Koeman eyeing City’s Angelino as part of Barcelona rebuild

Barcelona are considering a move for Manchester City‘s Angelino following the expiration of his loan deal at RB Leipzig, reports BBC Sport’s Simon Stone.

The terms of Angelino’s temporary stay in Leipzig included a €30-million option to buy, and it’s understood that the Premier League club would expect a similar sum should Ronald Koeman’s side try to sign the Spanish full-back.

Angelino reached the 2019-20 Champions League semifinals with Leipzig after making 12 appearances for Manchester City earlier in the campaign. Leipzig are still interested in signing Angelino on a permanent basis, The Guardian’s Jamie Jackson reports.

The 23-year-old’s arrival at Barcelona would provide competition at left-back to Jordi Alba, 31, and Junior Firpo, the latter of whom has dealt with knee, hip, and muscle issues since last summer’s transfer from Real Betis and has started just 11 times for Barca in La Liga.
