Koeman: Getafe’s Nyom said ‘very ugly things’ to me during match

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman accused Getafe defender Allan Nyom of directing “very ugly” remarks toward him during Saturday’s match between the two sides in Madrid.

Following Barca’s surprising 1-0 defeat, the Dutch coach was seen speaking with Getafe counterpart Jose Bordalas and explained afterward that he was making the Spaniard aware of his player’s alleged insults.

“I told Bordalas that Nyom had told me very ugly things, he has shown me a lack of respect and that he should talk to him,” Koeman told reporters, as translated by Adriana Garcia of ESPN. “Nyom insulted me, he showed a lot of disrespect. I will not accept that. We can’t let that happen in the modern game. I will not repeat it, no, but it was very ugly.”

Bordalas defended the veteran right-back, however.

“Nyom lives games at a very high level, but he is a very respectful person,” the Getafe bench boss said. “I doubt that he would have disrespected him. I don’t tolerate that from my players. I don’t like feeding controversy, but it seems that when we always win, the only talking point is on the non-sporting aspect and it’s never on Getafe’s merit.”
